Koh Phangan · In Development

Where sunset meets sustainability.

A boutique eco-resort and clean energy initiative on Koh Phangan, Thailand. Built around renewable infrastructure from the ground up — a foundation for the island's energy transition.

A Red Sunset KP Co., Ltd. project · Registered in Thailand

Our Thesis

Beautiful places. Cleaner energy. Real impact.

Boutique Hospitality

A small, intentionally-designed eco-resort in Koh Phangan. Premium guest experience throughout.

Clean Energy DNA

Solar-first design from day one. The resort runs on its own renewable infrastructure — not retrofitted, but built that way.

Built for the Long View

An investment foundation designed for scale — structured to support future expansion into renewable energy infrastructure under Thailand's national investment frameworks.

The Vision in Motion

Five steps. One direction.

A foundation built around renewable infrastructure, designed to evolve with regulatory frameworks and the island's long-term energy needs.

01

Solar Foundation

Renewable infrastructure designed into Phase One — built around the climate, not against it.

02

Storage Capacity

Energy storage capability designed to extend usability beyond daylight hours.

03

Smart Consumption

Intelligent demand management — using less by design, not by restriction.

04

Grid Integration

Grid integration pathways — under early-stage dialogue with PEA regarding renewable connection.

05

Island Transition

Long-term vision: contributing to Koh Phangan's renewable energy future.

All energy-related plans are subject to applicable regulatory approvals and engineering review.

Phase One

A small resort with a big idea.

The company holds title to a coastal parcel on Koh Phangan, acquired and registered in the early operational phase of Red Sunset KP. The land is held as the operational base for the project — not for passive investment.

The design pathway envisions a small number of villas on a hillside site, designed with restraint. Compact footprint, native landscaping, and renewable energy infrastructure integrated into the structure rather than added later.

The guest experience is shaped around quiet, light, and the materials of the place. A short walk from the coastline. Architecture that gives more than it takes.

Renewable Infrastructure

Designed into the foundation.

Why Koh Phangan

An island ready for the next chapter.

Two business partners. One opportunity that kept showing up.

Red Sunset KP was born from a working partnership on the ground. Founding Director Sirin Nekhamatcha, an established businesswoman based in Koh Phangan, and her strategic partner identified a recurring pattern: an island with growing premium hospitality demand, but ageing energy infrastructure unable to support it. This is the company built to address both.

Energy import dependency

Koh Phangan imports the majority of its electricity via undersea cables from the mainland — a structural vulnerability for any business building here.

Seasonal demand spikes and outages

During the rainy season, electricity demand rises while supply reliability drops. Outages are routine across the island. Distributed solar with storage directly addresses this challenge — for our resort and for the wider community.

Renewable infrastructure gap

Despite ideal solar conditions, distributed renewable infrastructure on the island remains underdeveloped — a meaningful gap for both businesses and residents.

A regional gateway

Koh Phangan sits between Koh Samui and Koh Tao, with established travel and trade flows. Infrastructure built here is positioned to extend across the wider archipelago.

This is both a hospitality opportunity and a contribution to Thailand's energy transition goals.

Sustainability

Phase Two

From one resort to island infrastructure.

The resort is the first step. By designing a property that runs on its own renewable energy infrastructure, we are proving the model that defines our next phase.

Red Sunset KP is developing a roadmap for distributed solar infrastructure across Koh Phangan, starting with our own properties and expanding to community partnerships.

Initial regulatory engagement is underway. The company has begun early-stage dialogue with the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) regarding renewable energy integration pathways, and is conducting compliance review with a local Thai architectural consultancy ahead of permit applications.

Our long-term roadmap includes grid integration in cooperation with PEA, subject to regulatory approvals. The company is positioned to engage with Thailand's national frameworks for sustainable investment and renewable energy development.
